Yes, that is a problem. I had sort of assumed that allowing a larger avatar would automatically allocate a larger amount of memory.

I had to decrease the size to about 40x68 to get to 5.9Kb. One picture I tried ended up completely blurred to get to 6Kb.

I found an app for iPad called ‘Image Size’ which is free and seems to work.
On this screenshot you can see the two boxes for size eg 90x90 which you can input new values. As you do the file size is shown so all the guesswork is taken out of it.

I’m having problems uploading an avatar. I have tried the 150x150 pixel size and the message still says file to big. Is there a reason why I can’t upload my avatar.

I'm having the same problem - even at less than 150. I deleted the original because I wanted the same aspect rather than cropped.

Roger I’m not certain about the file size as I use my Apple IPad, I just went off the limit of the pixels.
