Not surprised with the amount of work you have done on Low Ghyll. :)

Sorry Steve, time just rushes by. Took months before my family courier, brought new stuff. My first ever Trix stuff, fascinating, 2 types of 3 rail track. Reminded me, a tad late that 3 Rail, is my real love, hence need to get some up and running. Something had to give, hence the thread. Am re- laying DCC loops, now down to 4, to allow for 3 rail long continuous run. Up to now its been 25 foot single line from buffer to buffer. Hopefully will get two, 9x5 3 rail loops. This will allow the 20 odd locos, a chance to stretch their legs, and run newly acquired coaches, plus Trix wagons, etc. If it was not soo much work, twould be exciting. Praying for rain, as veggie patch needs turning over and lawns moss killed. All go.

I currently run 6 loco's at once. Well four under control and two using an auto shuttle system. All oo gauge DC.I have set my layout to be very user friendly to the point where I only have to plug in and switch on and away they all go.
The layout shares a room with my home office so I am frequently in and out on "business matters" so on go the trains. I have always enjoyed layouts that display plenty of movement and have noticed visitors seem to linger longer too.

My layout, DC controlled, will manage 13 locos, but 11 is better as it gives a little more flexibility.

On my diesel layout I can have up to eight engines on the layout.

The steam layout, two locomotives on the layout.

Are you talking about running locos or stationary ones?

I can run 4 locos at a time, but 13 locos can be on the layout and accessible to use.

Successfull start. Removed one DCC loop, the middle one of 5, and replaced with Hornby Dublo 3 rail track. Works great and accepts my new trix loco. Took the opportunity to relay 2 existing DCC loops with new mètre lengths flexi, so much smoother. Can’t decide whether to further reduce one more loop, as loads of 3 rail track, left over. I have double the number of 3 rail locos, toDCC ones, so it’s tempting.

I have 3 loops to run consistently and many sidings for shunting, shed movements etc
