Well I did not notice him mentioning Australia but he should still be able to send it to Hornby. People move around these days.
His location says Australia so I would assume he lives there.

Sorry but do you two always notice where people come from when you read a post. .....I don't. Tell you truth, it was easier on the old forum as details like that were on the left under the screen name were they not. Much easier to notice the place.

Model shops are few and far between in Aus. This shop although ,mainly specialising in Continental rail, do have some British outline. I trust them as they have done some work for me.
The fact that gear "falls off " apparently not being secured (glued?) would I think indicate problems at the factory. The cross head for example. It came apart in 2 pieces. How was it originally held together? The splasher came out of a slot in the footplate, nothing to secure it! There is nothing to secure the connecting rod to the crosshead, it just comes off in your fingers.
Unfortunately I have already taken the screwdriver to it, chipping it and straightening the pickup. Maybe I should box it and return to Hornby.

In that case I reckon it must have had a bad trip to Australia and got knocked around.

I noticed he was in Australia because he said he bought it from a shop in Australia and has mentioned several times on other posts that he lives there. Otherwise I don’t have a clue where people reside.

I wasn’t replying to you John. I was replying to Ian who said where it was.
I don’t generally take any notice of where people reside because it doesn’t usually matter, but in this case it was in the text.
