in regards to home servicing wary much like Wrenn loco which I have, the smallest drop of oil in a pin put on every rivet on the motion gear plus on the slide and piston rod where it goes into the cylinder block. Oil all 5 axels on both sides and tender axels as well. Under the body oil both the bottom and top bearings on the upright commutator..

I would not replace the magnet I found putting 2 small flat neo magnets one of each side of the old magnet is better. The large square neo replacements are too strong foe even Wrenn/Hornby Dublo loco motors
