Or just cut the wire and splice in an extension with choc blocks or solder.

I agree it looks like the JST micro connector and for sure there are jumper cables readily available for same, but equally it could also be any one of many other similar connector types from many other manufacturers eg TE/AMP or Molex etc...... are there any markings on the connector ?

Cutting the wires and adding a terminal block is the easiest solution but would certainly invalidate your warranty.

That looks like the type of plug and wire colours for an RC servo motor. If so you can buy extension cables, see below. No need to cut any wires or do any soldering.

Longer lengths are available.

It is certainly not one of those. That is a standard RC servo connector, this one is a miniature version.
As Hound Dog suggests, most likely a JST, but ought to be investigated further.
You might think that Dapol would list the connector part number in their associated documentation for just such a situation. Perhaps an email to them might produce an answer - but given their past record on apparent lack of technical knowledge about the electrical aspects of their own signal designs I wouldn't bet on it.

Regarding the entry by Walking the Dog I have just read a review about Dapol Signals in the January 2020 edition of Hornby Magazine and it also advises that extension cables are to be produced. I think I'll wait for them to be released.

Many thanks to all contributors.

Just hope they bring out a SR version - I could do with a couple.
