Re: Iphone speakers
Back on topic, I have an iPhone and wouldn’t say the speaker was particularly good.

Re: Iphone speakers
Sorry HoundDog - I misread the spec. sheet - it says it has smart phone speakers. Perhaps it's an upgrade? BB

No apology necessary B.B. - thanks for the opportunity to spout how good the SLW 24 really is !bulleidboy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 11:37 pm Sorry HoundDog - I misread the spec. sheet - it says it has smart phone speakers. Perhaps it's an upgrade? BB
Re: Iphone speakers
Just got round to trying the iPhone speakers.
I have two Class 20s in consist each with a TTS decoder and sugar cube speakers, so today i removed the Sc speaker from one of the 20s and fitted an iphone speaker.
I then ran both of them separately, there is a vast difference in sound, i then ran them together and the one with the iphone speaker dominates the sound.
I still have a spare IP speaker so i am buying a TTS decoder for one of my 37s and will try it in that.
keep you all posted how it works out.

Re: Iphone speakers
Its important to check the ohm of the speaker as TTS and Soundtraxx can only take 8ohm. I don't have any other make of sound decoders other than Loksound and Hornby's TTS so don't know about other makes.
For my esu loksound decoders I fit a double i-phone speakers rated at 4ohm (class 66 and 37s).
For my Hornby TTS and Soundtraxx decoders I fit a single i-phone speaker rated at 8ohm (class 66, 67 and 60s).
I have replaced my sugar cubes with I-phones as IMHO they give better sound and so easy to fit because of there size.

Re: Iphone speakers
ESU have marketed a newish concept with user configurable enclosures for their single and double speakers e.g. http://www.esu.eu/en/products/accessori ... -speakers/
To give a sense of scale this is a single 15x11mm speaker.

Today i took delivery of a TTs decoder for a Class 37, i first tried the loco with the speaker supplied with the decoder and recorded it, i then replaced the speaker with an iPhone speaker and there is a vast difference.
Not tried an iPhone speaker on my other 37s fitted with Zimo decoders yet, but speakers on order.
