i'm currently printing at 0.2mmlayers, but apparently the printer can handle as low as .12mm.

with a little sanding, i'm sure you can get a smooth finish with priming and painting... with some materials you can use acetone to melt the surface smooth, but that has additional hazards.

Are you designing the parts or using pre-designed ones?

If pre-designed ones, are they 'free' ones or paid for? And where did you obtain them?

I've a 3D printer but have had problems levelling the heated bed. I may get a different one with a self-levelling bed.

not so much on the bed today... but I've been developing something...



With Peco taking an age to make pl-10/e surface mount bases... I turned my hand to CAD and developed my own. Not yet got one on the printer as it's busy with some parts for the Loco Shed. (Right angles for clamping and gluing.)

I'll share a pic once I have one printed and tested.

finished the pm base...

Just needs a minor tweak to the hole in the bar, as it is fractionally too small.

will fit this one to my layout at some point...

managed to fìt and wire up the point motors, with switches for frog polarity... one point is electro and the other is insul. They are wired up the same way with insulating railjoiners on all the rails.
