Haha. But it will be worth it to have your track the way you want it. As long as it works.
I can understand why it is not cheap as building just a point took me a fair few hours to build.Actually spread throughout most of the day, but I was in no hurry.

I hope you are right Mountain Goat. I just find it a bit odd that nobody does one, model railways is all about compromise, and this is a compromise. Maybe of course all modellers like everything to be an exact replica and don’t like to compromise. I will report back once I get my crossing from Marcway.

As said before 60 deg crossings are rare in the UK so they probably would sell very few. There are many crossings and points that are not produced, you can’t expect them to make every conceivable possibility. Perhaps somebody would like a 55 or 70 degree crossing.
I could have done with some short points on my layout but they don’t exist so I had to adapt the layout.
Mountain Goat would just make his own

I like the thought of making my own points, but I am not far enough down the experienced model railway road yet to even consider it. I must say I admire the ingenuity shown by many model railway folk.

G’day Ron S,
1/ I am using regular RTR rolling stock and have no problems elsewhere with any of it.
2/ I am using Peco code 100 track and electrofrog points.
3/ I think the problem is the flangeways are not deep enough on this Atlas Crossover + 0-4-0’s and my Schools Class are getting beached because of the size of the dead sections.
Could I deepen the flangeways with a Dremmel and a disk? This may only partly sort out my problem.
Could I/should I get somebody like Marcway to make a 60 degree crossing for me, has anybody any experience of them please?
I wonder why Peco & Hornby do not make a 60 degree diamond crossover?
I am a bit knackered at the moment as my whole project has ‘come off the rails’ until I find a solution.
As a US fancier of British rail, I initially tried to do a layout using an abundance of very cheap Atlas track, thinking Code 100 would translate just as well to British Code 100 in OO. Eh, no. Everything British, in all manufacturers, more particularly anything Bachmann in the OO range, rattled badly and derailed over all American crossings and turnouts. Eventually I was forced to dig deep and pay triple for the British stuff, which worked quite well.
I did try to grind out the flangeways, this did not help as much as I had hoped, again, the Bachmann British range was not impressed by such modifications.

Glad to see that you are sticking to your original design for your layout by getting the crossing made for you,it may stretch your budget but it will be well worth it in the end. Hope it all works out ok and looking forward to seeing your progress as you create your railway.

All received from Marcway, it looks very good, I have not connected it to my track yet. It will be the last bit to connect. I will report back further when it has been commissioned.
