I model in "O" gauge ,( also suitable for OO N etc,) a really good road surface material (and inexpensive) is dry medical wipes which come in a pack of 200 for about £2-50
glue them to the roadway with diluted pva ( 50/50)and when dry, trim to pavement or kerb edge with a sharp blade. The best medium to obtain a very realistic ,and blended surface is to dry brush with black acrylic having added about 10% of dark green acrylic to the mix. The slight texture of the wipe when laid flat by the paint shows up when photographed just like the real thing. Examining photos of your layout reveals the little areas
which require a bit more blending etc. ie. rust on the check rails of pointwork.
