This vid ran a bit long, I try to keep them to four minutes or less, so as to not tax the viewer. I heard this Pete Townshend song for the first time this evening, and simply had to bump it. I paid up for the Hornby Class 71 and the Dapol Rail Diesel Coach, but don't regret a farthing. These two pieces are simply splendid in every respect, and best of all the mechanisms are state of the art, both creeping or galloping without hesitation.

Not really goofing off today, just running the trains. The Bachmann Earl Class 3200 was recently purchased, and gently broken in, after it rec'd high marks from Sam's Model Train Review. I have not had nice things to say about Bachmann, but if they keep making pieces as superlative as this 3200 they will win me back. Thing is a jewel and runs like a Swiss Watch. Also of note is the brilliant Oxford Rails Dean Goods. Another brilliant piece (also analyzed by Sam's). The Hornby Rocket is a marvel of ingenuity and even with its tiny wheel base it runs with complete confidence and steadiness (sorry, again, credit due to Sam). That piece of English history is just amazing. Lastly, the Hornby Terrier is another great piece that pulls like a horse in spite of her diminutive size. Fabulous low speed control, which is what so many of us modellors love: trains that we can run slooooowly, not like on a race track.

Slowly, yes, beautiful, but I almost got it clipped on the diamond, towards the end of the video!

The music track is of Italian Renaissance 1500 era. I'm not really a high brow, but I do love a good tune.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse... This generic Lima electric, reviewed in Sam's Train Review is a gem, and at the price,
a bargain among bargains. Seems to follow the old Triang template of a big, fat motor and pizza cutter flanges. In North America, specifically
Texas, none of my countrymen can tell Italian State Railways from Deepest Elbonia, and so she slides right into the mix easy as you please.
She runs a fair sight better than my treasured Hornby Electra, which I would run into a burning house to rescue. Thank you, Sam, for another
great review and putting me onto a delightful piece that I never would have found on my own in 100 years.

Much license taken herein. We'll see who can spot the misfits. Anyways, aside from butterflies, dragon flies, and lady bugs, I find insects to be wholly repellent. Had to put my big boy pants on for this one.
