Yes that’s the one! Thank’s for going to the trouble of finding it very helpful.
darkscot wrote: Thu Mar 11, 2021 8:34 am Well for me that is the starting point for a nice little shunting layout.
Good idea, I’d like to put in a large stone quarry at one end and at the other end a small coal mine and brick works by a stream, so will be looking at how to set that up with sidings etc.

Thanks to Pboland, bulleidboy, IanS Brian and Bandit Mick for the welcome :)
Mick, industrial grime sounds like me, just the thing!

Dave

If you want a ready made coal mine I have one built into a diarama removed from my previous layout. I'm loathe to break it up as it took some time to build. I have offered it on here before but no takers so far as it is too delicate to send through the post so will need to be collected. Not looking for any money, just want it to be used. What a generous offer, I’ve just looked at the video and you did an excellent job of the mine but I will turn down your offer.
What I have in mind is to Model the Hook Colliery which was still standing in the early 60's, it was a very small mine with a wooden winding frame and a jumble of old buildings. There was also a brickworks in Johnston with a branch line connecting.
Thanks every one, Dave.

Ah. To me it shouts out "7mm narrow gauge conversion" :D

You are losing me there! I’m told by the book of words that 00 is 8mm so 7mm would be 12.5% different? :?:

Dave.

7mm narrow gauge (0-16.5) converted from a Hornby 0-4-0 saddle tank loco. (Loco has not had its buffers and coupling bars fitted yet).
