That sounds interesting, I keep looking at the pesky things as I finally get round to tidying the work table.
Will now be looking at tension lock couplings (and Slaters Plastikard in general...of course!)

I think you will find that loco is an English Electric class 37

Sorry everybody! What a boo boo! I took that photo in Norwich Station and it was indeed a 37, the number was clearly visible, it's all coming back now thanks to the helpful people on here. I have to say that the exhaust fumes of those pairs of big diesels under the canopy was pretty horrible but they are gone now (except for rescue missions.)

Class 37 locos are still in service, not for rescue missions.
