james, hi, 2 questions. How big is your shed, and is your layout , end to end, or will it finally be joined up. Sorry if its somewhere in your posts, but at 78, i cannot concentrate on long posts.

Hello! The shed is 7.5m x 2.5m. There are multiple layouts planned for the shed. The one that is there at present is an N gauge layout. You can get an idea of how that fits into the shed from this video.

The largest of the layouts is planned to fit around 3 walls. This 3d illustration from SCARM should give an idea of how it will fit in:

Note that the grey area is the floor of the shed, so anything outside the grey area is outside the shed. The final layouts will be smaller modular portable N gauge layouts. Those are to the lower left, shown in this render here:

Only the N gauge layout is physically in place at present. The others are planned.

I hope that this all makes sense.

Thank you, so basically, a long end to end layout, . I have 20 ft x 12 ft, but cannot find any satisfaction in end to end. I have 2 Helixes, joined by long metal bridge, and 4 running tracks, 2 Dc, and 2 DCC, which do not connect to helixes. May be an age thing, but I like my trains to continuously run.

It is a matter of taste, I think - tastes vary enormously in the world of model railways!
