I’m sure they could put the money to a better use.

According to the SVR web-site you can't have one now because they're sold out!

good job, would rather money spent elsewhere. In the good old days, these gaudy colours did not exist.

Hornby
As some suggest, it's hideous, not my era, a rip off, horrible colour!
May I add it is completely disgusting!

The currant era in that colour must be era 11. Notice they are sold out so they must have sold the one they had.

Proper collectors would simply buy to add to their collection. For keeping boxed only.

Perhaps if it was a slightly deeper shade of purple it would be more appropriate, but that looks like it is sponsored by Ribena!

I don't know what everyone is seeing because I can only see a beautiful colour of a locomotive for the Queens Jubilee, ive seen it in the flesh, minus its name plate and it is nice and for the hornby model, well 2500 people must think its worth having .

As somebody else said most will go to collectors who won’t even remove it from the box.
There will be dozens on eBay soon.
I have never liked models like this, same goes for Fathers Day or Christmas wagons etc. Still each to their own.if you like it enjoy it.
