Hi Howard
They don't hang around nowadays - my wife had her first cataract surgery on December 6th and since that time has had the other eye done and had her gall bladder removed - and she's absolutely fine. Barry

I plan a day in the garage and in preparation I have put on thermal underwear. Or, as we call them in these parts, thicker knickers.

I've just bought a new 6ft twin tube LED to replace the old fluorescent tube in the loft, but it's too cold to work up there at the moment. This is a prelude to fitting new flooring around the hatch (the old floor is sagging and is pre tongued and grooved flooring. Then the insulation is also to be increased to 300mm. I am also thinking about fitting "loft-legs" which when fitted will give a raised area above the insulation for storage. I think I might wait until Spring.

Very cold in my shed today. Taking ages for papier-mâché to dry.

Car into garage this morning for major service, MOT and brake fluid change. 6 yrs old, only 22000 miles Skoda Octavia sport estate in immaculate condition. Thought about changing to new electric vehicle but at my age it is not financially viable. 8-)

tis minus 6 here and nippy. Far too cold for train room. Using cold weather to go to local tip several times as downsizing. They are good here. The guy greets you, shakes your hand , and empties the car for you. very obliging.

Blimey, different here. They refuse to help you and look to see what they can charge you for, like diy stuff. Different councils around the country might well be different.

We get charged for stuff like rubble - £3.75 per rubble sack! They used to let you take stuff away like timber and furniture. Now once it’s dumped it belongs to the council.
