I think many would be willing to contribute but to do so there needs to be a route to be used.

"Buy me a coffee" is one route used by a number of YouTube presenters, something worth investigating.

I think any contribution is likely to move the forum into a commercial operation which then involves tax and the accounts being regularly checked by independent accountants I may be wrong but that's my take on a subscription or donation method. Advertising is also a means of income and involves all the previous comments too. Money in could equal HM Revenue sniffing around.
The software used for the forum is free, so the only cost is personal time, Web hosting and Domain name renewal.
Annual funding of the forum hosting was the main reason I passed the ownership onto to Stese. ;)

You may be right Brian - as far as I am concerned - if anything is required - it's there.
