thank you all, yeh its going to take some time, I have looked at all the trains and im sad to say only one works, all the others the wires are hanging out of them, my dad never finished his lay out and sadly past 13 years ago now, he had the track set out and that was as far as he got, I did get into trains when I was young and spent many hours in the loft playing with them.

Those older locos are usually quite easy to fix. They kept the designs simple in those days. Many spares are still available from the likes of Peters Spares and others.
