You've started something now. A couple of inches of snow and WTD goes all misty eyed. Now, when I was a kid we had real snowfalls. Go to bed - no sign of snow. Wake up and the back yard is under 6ft (ish) of the stuff. We were tough in the Durham coalfield .

I can see snow on the distant hills. Nothing here yet though.

I know you speak the truth PP have seen real snow up here many times. Why only last March could not get our car off the drive for 2 weeks, wouldn't have mattered if I had as the road was only clear after the plough had just gone through. Only things that moved were 4x4s the Farmers have around here.

No snow here - although a very heavy frost this morning - even the roads are white.

Just rain here but warnings for icy roads and pavements.
Very frosty and icy as predicted but bright sunshine now.

Was driving past St Mary's Loch A 708 and saw an old AA telephone box all restored like new standing by the side of a house near St Mary's Village. Have not seen one of those for many years.
There is a RAC box in the middle of nowhere on the road from Fettercairn to Banchory over Cairn na Mount, but it wont get much use at the moment as the snow gates are closed.
There is a good covering of snow on the Angus Glens over 2000ft, but nothing at low level just Brass Monkey weather! -2 today and bright sunshine.

I did not know there any RAC boxes still in commission nowadays. I thought they were all restorations by enthusiastic people who had done them up to put next to there houses on display, Have seen few old Post Office Telephone Boxes like that.
Is that one you mention still in use. I saw a chap out on the Pennine Lanes near Alston painting up the old cast iron black and white Road Signs couple of weeks ago. They looked lovely he was making nice job of it.
