As promised, here are some photos of some of my recent purchases, there are still more yet to be done.

I hope you like them, the 22XX body is yet to be painted but with a few projects on the table at the moment, it's a case of who knows when they will be finally finished.
Is the 8F a Wrenn one? I've got one and although it lacks the fine detail of more modern versions it's a great runner and one of my favourites (maybe because it reminds me of the Hornby Dublo one I had as a child).

Hi Cheshire Lines

The 8F is a hornby tender drive locomotive which had to have a motor upgrade as the commutator / armature whichever term you prefer to call it, was not very well.

I found that a few windings had snapped and were touching the motor housing. The upgrade was by way of a cd motor kit available for hornby locomotives and now the loco runs much better even at slower speeds.

My Father wanted a BR tank loco for his layout, he doesn't mind the older models, which I prefer to avoid TBH, so I managed to find this one for him from ebay for under £31 delivered, it in fantastic condition for a 40+ year old model, and after a few minutes running this 80's R239 was as smooth as silk and lovely and quiet.

Thinking it was a handsome looking loco, I decided to see if I could find something similar but a little newer for myself. This early 20's R2224 popped up on my search, I loved the look of it, and ebay had a 20% off promotion with certain things, which this was one. Under £56 delivered, I didn't need it, but TBH at that price I found it too hard to resist 😄

Doesn’t that look nice. Bargain. What do you mean you didn’t really need it, of course you did.
