Hello WTD, I believe it was an hornby members club edition. There's an hand written 2015 date on the box so I'm not sure if that's when this version was released
I'm always on the lookout for ww2 era and war department items for the layout so im glad that I came across this. If I remember correctly 9 of these locos were sent over to France around 1940 and I think only 5 returned after the war,
Cheers, Lee.

New addition to the rolling stock. A six wheeled All Third carriage in Great Central Railway livery. I know they are generic, but the size is ideal for the layout and not 'overpowering it'.

Nice additions.
Loco runs like a dream. Sold as second hand, but never been run. The real loco was built in 1905, so fits in well to my timeframe.

Somewhere in the back of the cupboard, I have the Huntley & Palmer Peckett and three H&P wagons - I ought to dig it out. Was your carriage a Hornby or Hattons version?

Hattons Generic 2nd phase (Rails of Sheffield) I also have two carriages in Lancashire & Yorkshire livery.
I know the carriages are of a generic nature, but I love the length of them. Trains of two, three or four carriages in length do not 'overpower' my layout.
