Last year I was trying to hunt down some of the newest tooling Hornby Bulleid coaches for my BR (SR) loco.
I was finding them difficult to obtain, (the composites at least, brakes are plentiful) so ended up buying some almost as tricky to find SR ones which I intended to re-decal to BR.
Then, Murphys law - some BR came up, so I grabbed them.
Now finding myself with some SR Bullied coaches without a loco to haul them, I trawled through the pre-owned listings on ebay. and found this BNIB for less than the used versions were going for
So my first delivery of 2025: Hornby R3537 King Arthur Class N15 "Camelot"

Only way to beat an SR loco is with a GWR loco.
Is a fine loco!

Hope this picture works. Is the little N gauge loco that is my unexpected surprize.

Kinda went crazy with wagon purchases last week, now my count stands at 118 with 4 on pre-order ... should be enough to start
So I decided to make a spreadsheet so I could remember what wagons I have, while I was at it I did one for coaches and locos too.
I could not resist making an offer on this mint example, so another loco added

It looks a fine loco!
I tried a few paper methods of keeping stock books, but with extra purchases and other items being sold on, they soon became out of date, especially if one has many wagons of the same type!
I need to do it with my narrow gauge stock so I can keep track of things.

The trouble with making a database of all my engines, and rolling stock, is its very easy to spot any shortfall
Considering my layout is supposedly mainly GWR, I was lacking some BR(W) stock. So to that end, I went on the hunt for some excellent condition previously owned, and ended up with a pair of ex GWR heavy hitters:
Described as New, no reason to doubt:
Described as used once and then stored, again no reason to doubt:
And as I needed another LMS rake for the branch line, and have LMS era 3 Staniers for the mainline, I picked up these four older LMS era 1's from various sellers. 2x 3rd brake and 2x Composite (all different no.s):

The BR(W) King class needed something to haul, and as I already have some Collett's, MK1 and Pullman's, I thought a rake of Hawksworth would be nice
The last couple of coaches arrived to complete my rake today:
OK, I know my "King" is late crest, but I do like the blood and custard livery, so Rule 1
