That’s true Brian - I think that is done for two main reasons. It distributes the weight of larger prints with ‘overhangs’ better and it can help fit a larger item within the relatively small print area. Small items from the professionals seem to be upright when printed.Walkingthedog wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 8:31 am From what I have seen lots of things are printed at 45 degrees.

Two days in and I’m an expert? Just guessing Brian.

Version 4.0 unintentionally printed on a slant.

I reckon these are close to being finished.

More experimental prints - the beagle lying down is ok but the dachshund only has three legs! A different angle of printing is needed for that one.
The cow is ok although the original file appears to have added a ledge down its flank and finally the mutant bovine on the right is best not talked about in polite society.
Photo is a bit fuzzy - my fault.

Re: WEST ORTON
The dachshund now has a full set of legs. Also a LMS style loco lamp - I did add a handle in the design phase but I think 8 made it too thin and it has failed to materialise from the print.

These "rail chairs" look like being extremely expensive item by the time you've finished - the ball with the holes in looks very impressive - looks like an Alexa speaker.
Re: WEST ORTON
Looks like you’ve got the hang of that Steve. Well, nearly.
Much more nearly than I have at any rate.

Barry, I won’t charge for R&D or capital investment - so how much much do you think I should charge?

I promise to stop posting pictures of these but progress today has been good. Corrected the missing handle on the LMS lamp, but more importantly, I worked out what I had done wrong. The handle needs to be a little higher, maybe 1mm, but that is easily corrected.
Flushed with success I think I got it right first time with the GWR lamp.
