Looking good.
I haven't run anything for a while as I've been upgrading my scenery.

Thank you. I have been gradually replacing scenery etc. on a part of the layout that had to be removed (window replacement) - this meant removing my control/work desk, and all of the associated wiring that was under the desk. It has taken a lot longer to replace than it took to remove. I'm slowly getting there :)

The new work bench/control desk is now in place. Bolted to the layout on both sides and the rear - so I can stand on it  I have not made up mind whether to hinge the top or not? Still a lot of work to do, but some progress made. It is six inches deeper than the old one, which does mean a bit of a stretch to reach the backscene behind it, but it is part of the layout which require little maintenance etc., - famous last words

Looks good Barry.
Hinging the top is guaranteed the invoke Sod's Law. :D
But that's a waste of good storage space. I would consider installing drawers for all those modelling tools you need to hand.
I bought a couple of shallow wooden trays from The Works and installed them under my bench (it's not as deep as yours) to keep drill bits, sanding pads and small hand tools.

I bought this display unit about two years ago, and its been sitting in my "to do" box (it's a big box :( ) ever since.
As I have been constructing a new work bench/control desk, I thought I would incorporate it in the facia of the bench.
It shows voltage and amps going out to the layout, and just has two wires in from your controller and two wires out - which go to the track. At this moment is shows the track is receiving 15.3 volts from the controller, and whatever is on the layout (about seven loco's) is taking 0.34amps. It probably shows other things but I have yet to read the instructions.
