If that might be the case Steve may I recommend that you quickly remove the chimney, it is very tall.

Today I went to buy plywood.
Unsuccessful as B&Q has withdrawn its timber cutting service at weekends.

It’s time for Shaddeholme to sign off.
The decision has been made and all the buildings have been removed and carefully stored away. Over the next few days it will be separated into four main sections and temporarily stored away. Regrettably this means that all the point motor wiring will be removed - probably a good idea seeing the state of it.
What next? There is a possibility that parts of the old layout may be reduced in size to create up to three individual layouts - the station, engine yard and harbour. The latter could become a small shunting layout, who knows?
But that’s all some distance in the future.
Once the boards are out of the way I can start on the new OO layout ‘West Orton’. I will probably build a new frame for Low Ghyll and raise it a couple of inches as part of that phase.
