Almost ready for some assembly. One more large cross piece is in the printer and I will have to print a few more of the riveted gusset plates, some will need to be a mirror image of the ones already done, but it’s getting there.

In the photo in the previous post it is clear that there are different panels for each end of the bridge sides i.e. two left panels and two right panels.
The trick when glueing them together is not to stick a left to a right........which is what I managed to do.
Replacement sections are now being reprinted overnight.

I’ve added the last few small parts to embellish the main structure of the bridge so it’s probably ready for paint this week. Currently working on some parts for the track deck to disguise the plywood base. Will need to extend the bridge piers to fit the span of the bridge and I’ll need to add some scenic touches to the rear side of the lift out section.

That's seriously impressive. Now all you need is a gang of workers sitting on a crossbeam eating their lunch as in that iconic photo of the Manhattan skyline in the 'thirties!

Completed the painting of the bridge and installed the deck plates between the tracks. I also needed larger bridge supports so designed something suitable with a stone pattern on the exposed walls. For some reason this did not survive transfer to the printer so I ended up with concrete plinths instead.

I now have some serious tidying up and cleaning to do in both sheds as they look like a bomb had hit them. Hornby also returned my Elite controller after repair - free of charge so I’m quite pleased with that.

Nice work Steve. Have to say I like the concrete bridge supports. I thought that as soon as I saw them before I read the text.

Thanks Brian. Although I started with a free 3D file, it was necessary to design and build quite a few smaller parts myself to complete and adapt the model to fit my requirements. Learned quite a bit along the way.
I did fall back on ‘old school’ modelling by cutting and filing a few bits to make them fit then realising that actually I could have made those changes in the virtual world......if I were a bit smarter.

What you’re doing looks pretty smart to me.

I added a backscene and some scenic bits yesterday - which just shows that I can’t paint backscene. I do need to camouflage that overcentre catch though and finally get round to putting water in the river.

I’ve had to have a mammoth track cleaning session ahead of some testing that I need to do. One particular section of track was very tarnished - it’s awkward to get to as the footbridge to the engine shed was in the way. It’s removable, which is a good thing. While I was working on it, I stood it alongside the new bridge - I think I need to get a couple more kits and make a pedestrian walkway to link the station to the shed.
