Probably because he’s still young enough to contribute to society - the rest of us are only fit for the knacker’s yard.
And I like oily fish so that won’t be a hardship.

Re: Forced to slow down.
One of my colleagues seemed to live on oily fish at work and used to berate the rest of us for eating cheese sandwiches and the occasional Burger King. Ended up with colon cancer and passed away in his late 40's.

Oily fish, alternating with Peanut butter sandwiches. Thats what the guy who worked with my dad was told by his doctor. He lived on sardines.

A little of what you fancy when you fancy and the rest of the time eat a sensible broad spectrum of comestibles, all washed down with a glass or several of wine.
I was once told it took 20 years before the effects of smoking would kill you, so a good age to start smoking would be just after you retire. You could probably apply that logic to glutenous eating and drinking.

I was watching walking Britain's Lost Railways (on Channel 5). The presenter, Rob Bell, visited a quarry that was getting limestone out of the Peak District.
"What do you use quicklime for?" asked Rob Bell.
Two of the answers the quarry manager replied with were -- Food and toothpaste?
The mind boggles as to what we eat.

I think the Billy Connolly sketch about White v Brown Bread sums it up perfectly.......

Re: Forced to slow down.
My GP phoned just now - disappointed that I didn’t get the ‘oily fish lecture’.
Apparently nothing to get worried about and actually said ‘very good heart function......for your age!’
Very mild ‘regurgitation’ on the mitral valve but all in all, very good news.
It seems that all I need is some regular exercise - so not all good news.

Get a dog, you don’t have any choice then.
Good to hear you are OK.

Ditto - glad you are ok - if only “ish”. R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.
