Last week I picked up what I believe to be a new release from Bachmann - ex ROD now L&NWR 2-8-0. Rails of Sheffield were selling them at only half price so it would have been rude to say no.
The only issue was that one of the cylinder rod extensions in the accessories pack was missing. Not worth returning to Rails for that as I was able to quickly make one in the 3D printer. Fitted for the photos but yet to be painted.

Had a great day with WTD and BB at the Great Electric Train Show yesterday and even managed to avoid spending too much money - although I have added a couple of locos to my wish list.
As part of the project to populate my coaches, I bought a couple of different bits to add lights at the same time. A battery operated kit similar to the Hornby Maglight system (but much cheaper and some DCC Concepts springy wheel/axle contacts.
Getting the axles out of a Gresley ‘teak’ almost proved impossible but I then found that both wheels are electrically isolated from the axle so the springs won’t work - saving those for another day. I have fitted the first battery kit which appears to work perfectly.
Also started adding the painted figures only to find that the seats are a tad narrow requiring some slimming down of the figures with a Dremel. As Shakira says, hips don’t lie.

Do you need any magnets to go inside your tunnel or under a bridge - I have some if you would like them?

Thanks Barry but I have loads from the maglights I fitted to the Genesis coaches. Have considered the tunnel activation but as soon as I switch them off I’d be switching them back on. The limitations of having a ‘roundy round’ rather than end to end layout and no fiddleyard.
Two coaches completed but it’s too cold in the shed to do much more today.

Was really nice to meet you in the flesh yesterday Steve and to catch up with Barry.
