Great pictures Steve - mine arrives between 1.30pm and 2.30pm today. I might look to fit the speaker in the smokebox if space is tight? There were some comments (surprise, surprise!) on RMWeb about the colour, but in your pictures is looks good.

Barry, I found that the speaker (smallest enclosure) will fit under the ballast weight in the space provided for the older style round speaker with no modifications needed. I chose to fit a powerbank (s usual) and that too will fit in the same space.
However it is slightly too large and causes the weight to sit about 1.5mm too high. I milled (filed) a relief in the underside of the weight and it all fits like a glove. A tight glove I’ll admit, but it does just squeeze in. Now you know why I was keen to take up the question of space with the designer when we saw him.

Mine has just arrived Steve - I've not opened the box yet. What sound profile did you use?

I think the lining is yellow should be orange. Probably looks worse in the picture.

SD019 Britannia. A bit ‘heavy’ but it’s two cylinders and will do until Chris Reilly gets round to the 2MT. I may try either the 4F or J36 at some point. I’ve got a TTS in my Bachmann version but for the life of me I can’t remember which profile is on it.

Watching your video, I thought I heard a chime whistle? I did see a green Ivatt 2MT come through B'stoke sometime ago and it had a chime whistle - so Brit. sound profile is probably ok - temporarily.

I’ve checked the Hornby profile list - 2MT sound profile was slated for Q4 2023. Chris needs to get a move on.

I’ve been considering a challenge that I had inadvertently built into the layout. Basically, trains could access the branch line from either platform from one direction, but could not access it from the other direction. A new pair of points on the bridge solves that problem.

Steve,
Nice job…….. with the surface mount solenoid point motors, how do you change the frog polarity ?……… I might need to use one of these on a layout change I am planning, but the only time I previously used one, I had to fit an adjacent micro switch to change the polarity.
Cheers Richard

I actually fitted insulfrogs!!!!!
I don’t worry about stalling these days as 40+ locos have stay alives fitted. I have used electrofrogs everywhere else and fitted each with a Gaugemaster autofrog module.
These points are on a bridge section with no access under the board hence the surface motors but there is no room to fit a microswitch, which I would have done for panel lights. Somewhere in the depths of my junk boxes in the garage I may have a couple of modules that switch a light when the register the pulse from the CDU - one day they may surface.
