The platform surface stays, with a bit of filling of the seams, saved a job I wasn’t looking forward to.

Now to the other end of the yard and the goods shed.

Fresh from The Plant, a new addition to Neptune Street’s allocation. Having one or two shares in the engine I simply couldn’t resist the purchase. It looks far too clean though, it will need a light weathering.

The start of a cardboard mock-up of the goods shed (having remembered to cut the entrance for the wagons ). The front wall will be an open wall with a girder at the roof line supported on columns, as was the original Neptune Street goods shed.
I may well either keep the roof open or at least removable for viewing purposes.

That's going to look great. If you left the roof open, which a girder roof construction, and possible the odd sheet of rusty corrugated iron, it would look very realistic as a rather dilapidated roof that had seen better days.

Now that sounds like a great idea, and just when I thought I’d finished cutting up tin foil baking trays.

Slow progress on the goods shed, hampered by the build up to the festive period. Now to the longitudinal girder along the front open side and the dreaded roof girder construction.

I wasn’t going to post this but then thought otherwise……

A little further progress with the goods shed; a couple of sidings slewed to fit, track pins in the cold tested my patience, more bent than straight. Next is the roofing jig for the girders, that’ll be a slow job I suspect.

Looks good. What track pins do you use?

Peco SL-14, a real pain today. I put it down to the cold, cold hands and a lack of patience, or all three. Averaged three bent for everyone hit home

I recommend Gaugemaster pins. Very sharp with perfectly flat heads.
