Thanks Brian.
I did realise that I hadn’t unmasked the driving wheel splashers- just popped back to the shed to do that. Worked a lot better than I expected given it was a difficult section to mask. I do need to touch up a little bit of paint bleed but the lining should take care of the rest.
Must press on with the tender tomorrow.

It does look a little dark but it's better than mud (anything is)
How does it look if you take it outside in daylight?

;)

We don’t get much daylight this far North at this time of year.

I started painting the detail by hand on the tender chassis - it was actually easier to mask and spray the axle boxes and springs.
Also took care of the myriad of small parts I removed last week.

Yesterday was all about putting some gloss varnish on areas that would receive transfers.
These were added this morning - some ‘one-piece’ transfers had to be cut into smaller sections to get them to fit. I think I will let them dry overnight then decide tomorrow if they need to be sealed with varnish before going any further.

I can see the loco number under the paint on the cab side. Will that cause any problems.

It shouldn't do, Brian. It acts as a good guide for the new ones and should blend out with the varnish.
Thats the plan.....hope I'm right. :?
