Knowing that much about a horse sounds to be the result of a mis-spent youth. That can be applied to a lot of people around here!!! Not me, of course.
The ones I backed are still running.

Can advise St Frusquin (don't ask who he was, ask the horse owner instead !!) was repainted from LNER Green to BR Experimental Purple in May 1948 (as per the model) This livery was followed by BR Blue 12/50 and BR Green 6/52

:ugeek:
Thanks PP....... I did realize after I posted it that I got the date wrong as it must have been after nationalization so my guess of 1947 was wrong. Thanks for putting me right PP.......... :)

Just arrived, the Hornby Club Model SE&CR class H No 263.

The sleeve round the box was incredibly tight, I managed to get it off once by using a smaller box to push down on, BUT the second time the inner box buckled and jammed solid. I tried using rulers to ease the cardboard, to no avail! I have now cut the outer sleeve and glued a piece of paper inside it leaving a 2mm gap so the sleeve is now still tight but not so tight I can't get it off.

Loco looks good, and runs well, shame about the packaging!

Someone on the Hornby Forum had the same problem - I think they sent it back, because they could not get the box out of the sleeve. I've had the same problem with a previous model, but usually with some perseverance the box came out. My loco is due to arrive on Friday.

My Hornby H Class Wainwright arrived this morning, and I had the same trouble removing the box from the sleeve - see Hornby Forum for details.

Been contemplating for sometime a Class 17 Clayton for the Hertitage Railway Centre on my layout and have been occasionally checking eBay etc for a reasonably priced Heljan version....... However the other night I spotted a Dave Alexander white metal kit version for sale and having never built a loco kit before, I thought this might be a cool thing to try.

Said Kit duly arrived this morning, carefully packaged in the original box as new...... Will be looking for any tips when I get around to building this but my first thoughts are to glue rather than solder - however don’t expect this to be completed anytime soon, as this is likely to be a project saved for these long winter nights - Cheers Richard

I did not have one of these in black so picked this up for £24. Looks like new but not arrived yet.

Ordered this last night to replace an old K's kit I built years ago which was stolen. Would like one of the red frame versions as well when I find one. Next is to find a rake of clerestories to complement them. As my old Hornby versions are not very good. But will do for time being.
