Suggest or recommend suitable tools for use in constructing your model railway.

A couple of points in case anyone else is reading this before buying.
1) Digital so it reads negatives if connected "backwards" or a centre-off dial reading for the same reason
2) Avoid the ones with the leads hard wired in, I didn't and now I have a collection of adaptors to enable such things as crocodile clips, tiny grips etc.
