I think you would call that "private" - I don't have that, so my crown will cost about five Merchant Navy loco's!
Insurance is a legacy from before I retired - pretty much the only ‘perk’ we were allowed to keep on retirement. £10 per month, so two NHS fillings a year and it pays for itself. Well worth it imho.

My dentist charges about 4 MN's per crown - and I've just had two done about 6 weeks apart! R-

Slight increase over your dentist Roger, as my dentist is in the Strand, London - I expect the rent is a little higher than Dorset. I've been using the same practice for forty one years - they are very good and I'm reluctant to change to somebody local who I don't know - but I pay the price!

I've been with the same dental practice for about 15 years now and to be fair they are pretty good on the whole.

I changed to them when the one I was with previously stopped doing National Health work altogether.
