BB's comment about the trains links very well with the thread Types of Model Railway Enthusiasts on the Mess Room forum. Different people have different enthusiasms within the model railway world. It looks as though the modelling and photography are the Big Enthusiasm here and Very Nice They Are Too. That said, perhaps we'll see some cracking videos of trains moving through the magnificent Arboretum Valley scenery. :D

Your right, my friends in the railway world are modellers, and for me it is more a bout the modelling, be it speaking to a figure painter, or a tree maker. So I rarely run them, so I rarely run them. Shock...horror! But there are videos on youtube, a couple.

Thanks for putting the link to the videos. In the first video, I liked the way the train zoomed rather than crawled into the station and then came to a halt. Nice braking. :D

LOL my husband is fanatical about his DCC,sound cards for the correct locos (better may be a valuable since these were purchased). Trains being able to use small sections, he has had several controllers, gone through various options, ours is probably not up to date at the moment, he is on another hobby at the moment, he updates the running numbers, buys cable for specific locos like the Thunderbird options. And if I move a loco or worse a train and it is no longer in the correct place when he turns on the DCC and they do not all operate per his schedule i usually need a pair of running shoes LOL.
People often mention that trains appear to sit in the same spot, this is because they have designated homes, many are hidden, but some as specific and go home there on a regular basis. We actually have a lot of locos but many of them sit dead in the water while i primp and photograph them and then return to a box.
He has even bought donor locos and then off the shell and incorporated Blackpool trams instead

Th layout also has all interconnected roads, as at some time he plans those also to be radio controlled.

Hell we even have a radio controlled tank! No video to date though!
