I find it strange that Sundials differ often from clock faces in they sometimes use a roman numeral of IV for 4 o clock but clocks with roman numbers generally use IIII (Quiz question often).

Something to do with one of our Kings apparently. He designed a clock face and used IIII instead of IV and of course nobody could tell him he was wrong.
That could well be a load of rubbish.

I must have gazed up at the clock faces that hide Big Ben a hundred times and have never noticed is says IV and not IIII.
