Thanks for your replies been very busy with the house and garden, so not had a holiday for 16 years, so next year we are going on a long drive, so will start the baseboard on our return, yes have built a few layouts in the past, TT /N /OO need UK rolling stock, have looked at Hattons and Rails, will see how things pan out in a few months time, keep safe everyone. Hattons have been fantastic getting stuff to Spain. I'm traveling myself right now but I'll post a few details later as there are still a few pitfalls ...

Well better late than never ...

I've now had three consignments from Hattons and have now settled on the DHL delivery option as the most reliable both n terms of speed and actually getting throught the Spaish customs. As is always the case with my luck this is the most expensive @ £30 so I'm saving up my 'Trunk' purchases to over £300 before actually getting the stuff delivered.

With that in mind I've been able to get quite a lot of bargains ad now have a embarassing amount of rolling stock both physically here - 8 engines! - plus another one and a rake of coaches in my Trunk awaiting a full load. But I've also discovered that you can return items from the Trunk and get a full refund to your credit card. Hattons don't explicitly state that as far as I know as I guess they might stop it of it's abused. But for me )I can nab a bargain and later change it if a better deal comes up :)

In terms of personal support the Hattons team have been fantastic, both in working through the delivery - I've had three attempts returned by customs until we settled on DHL, the first time this happened Hattons paid the extra £15 changing from DPD to DHL - and in issues around my orders. The description of the products are faultless and their repsonse time is amazing, also 7 days a week.

By contract a well known outlet on the other side of the Penines simply doesnt charge the VAT and leaves you to it - that's a disaster in Spain at last of not elsewhere in the EU ...
