The year is 2035... Coal and all other fusel fuels have been banned
All Heritage steam locos have now been converted to Hydrogen fulled. Steam outline locos tenders have had all coal removed and Hydrogen tanks fitted in their place which is then piped to the firebox and boils the water to steam! Coal is placed in on top of the converted tender as a reminder of the times coal was seen as "King for steam power"!
The future of Heritage lines?

Brian ! Very good, why didn't I think of that. There is always an answer.

The year is 2035. All fossil fuels have been banned, motorcycles as we know them are merely museum pieces, battery powered cars have not kept the promises made about them and personal transport is the preserve of the rich. The general public only travel on public transport to places that are pre-designated at times set by those in the corridors of power. At this point in time we all wonder where it went wrong. This may seem a cynical and jaundiced view of the future but I truly believe it is approaching rapidly.

It’s 2035, that means I’ve missed the start of a programme that started at half past eight.
Nurse, the screens!
Re: The future of Heritage lines?
I know why I did not think of using hydrogen to heat the fire box. Hydrogen produces water in the exhause. That is the last thing we want to produce in a world that is suffering from rising sea levels at the prescent time. Just think what will happen if we produce huge quanties of water into the world which has had the same ammount of water for millions of years at the same time the polar caps are melting. Any one for a swim chaps. We have one redeeming thing to look forward to. In about 1500 years we shall be entering the next ice age. So why worry.
