If going for Plywood then seriously consider spending more £ and obtain quality plywood, such as Marine or Beech Ply. Cheap ply from the far east is often warped due to bad storage, can have gaps in the laminations and it can de-laminate easily too due to the low quality of glue used.
BTW OSB is extremely stable. :D

We have a shed on the fields I look after where we had stored some OSB and ply. The OSB warped quite a bit unlike the ply. I suppose there are different grades of OSB, so Brian is probably correct.

Peco sell bags of joiners. Plenty on ebay. Dublo man will have original ones. I recover mine from old track, as peco ones a tad stiff. You will need to make up a little jig to stretch them, or get sore fingers.

there is a previous post detailing size of knurled nuts, and supplier, but again, Dublo man has them. Look on net for his site. He also does carbon brushes for 3 rail locos, should you need them. Good site.

I can definitely recommend using ply rather than other materials. It can take a lot of weight with out significant extra bracing. This is part of my dad's layout (I built the boards for him 6 years ago and they haven't moved a bit) as can be seen there is chance of considerable weight in parts. The others side of layout has a upper level again made from ply and again no movement.
Yes with 4 trains running round and 1 shunting it can be a bit noisy but to be honest my dad doesn't normal have 5 movements at 1 because that's when they play up ( you can't keep an eye on all of em at once)

Thanks for this Gareth 73… am thinking of using Sundeala K on top of Plywood; it takes pins easily & deadens the sound.
