No, I just have a pathological dislike for London. Always have, always will.
But the memsahib won’t countenance a house move to a better area.

We like living far enough away not to be affected by London but close enough to get there easily and quickly.

Mine is only a lowly £2785 - that should fill a few pot-holes?

If you go to
https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax
you can check if any vehicle is taxed or insured.
Useful if you have a bump and you want to check on the other vehicle or vehicles.

Cyprus village tax covered bins every other day, police, whitewashed garden walls as applicable, loads of other stuff - €90/yr.
Dereham council tax £186 / month for bins, potholes , police, contribution to brown envelope backhanders for dodgy planning applications, etc.
Ref potholes - if you ding a wheel, take a photo and what3words location and report it to the council, they say it is not their responsibility until reported whereupon they visit said pothole and spray paint a white circle round it. Now they will accept claims for compo.
So if you ding a wheel, spray paint round the hole, take a photo and report it with your claim for compo. If they argue you say not my problem if your reporting system is awry.
