Hi Everyone

Here is the picture of my creation mentioned a few posts ago.

Image

It looks rather unusual hence the picture title but I felt it was the only way to create 1 in code 100 .

Re the glued sleepers which puzzled walking the dog, once I had put the pieces together I wanted it to be as strong as possible and while the glued sleepers were curing to ensure a strong join and make the sleepers look like they were 1 piece, I temporarily glued a piece of brass under them to assist with this but as the glued sleepers have now fully cured, the piece of brass has now been removed.

Zooming in on the picture will show where the rail join was made as I soldered the rails 20 minutes ago to ensure best possible power flow through them.

Why did you need to permanently join them together. I have joined points like that many times without shortening them. Was it so they would fit in a space?

In it's current format, my layout is very restricted in terms of space availability and permanently joining them enables me to remove or install them in 1 go aswell as adding strength to the rail joiners for power flow.

IMO there was no need to solder the rails in the fishplates! The fishplates should hold the rails firmly. The soldering needs tying up especially the large blob on the lower rail joiner. Also the points shown are both Insulated frog but the topic was about Electrofrog points?

I think the asymmetric 3 way point was Electrofrog... and that had caused some issues with the understanding of the wiring, and possibly the damage to the sleepers...
