Just had look around for photos of pre war tractors and did not have lot of luck really. Loads of photos of Field Marshals. I only found 2 pictures of earlier types which were from the 30s. (not good pictures at that) So perhaps that is why Oxford produced the Field Marshal as representation of an early tractor. I think it does look the part and often we have to make do with that after all it is a model railway. I thought if you removed the large exhaust it may look a bit more like the older ones. But I like the look of it as it is to be honest. Yukk go all the rivet counters. On my layout you just as likely going to see a GWR Lord of the isles with rake of clerestories going one way and Tornado in BR livery with rake of late coaches going the other. ...........John
