Now that's what you call a 'space'!

I decided against buying the red point panel after some potentially dodgy bidding on the tinterweb auction site. I've now purchased a different one which will allow me to control the 17 points I currently have, and there's enough spare switches should I decide to expand the layout.
So the next job is to get the points currently wired transferred to the new panel, then carry on and finish off the others. Once all tested I can then start to look at ballast for the track.

A little update to share which locos I've bought since April '18:
- Locomotive Number Manufacturer Sound
Class 47 47 033 Hornby Yes
Class 47 47 298 Heljan No
Class 150 57256 Bachmann Yes
Class 37 37 051 Bachmann Yes
Class 128 55992 Heljan Yes
Class 33 33 030 Heljan Yes
Class 66 66 062 Bachmann Yes
Class 66 66 022 Bachmann Yes
Class 47 47 365 Bachmann Yes
I'm starting to think ahead about adding a fiddle yard that will allow trains to run in and out the other end rather than the current in/out the same way option I have at the moment. I may add a 7ft x 2ft section at one end but that would then remove the ability to walk all the way round the layout. The other, probably better option, would be to add a 5ft x 2ft section in the space currently not used other than to stand and watch the trains.
Trains would come off the right hand Helix into the yard then out the other end, around the left Helix and back onto the "main line" onto the main layout section.
Picture here gives the idea

Have you tested the link Andy? I get an error message saying the album I'm looking for does not exist. R-

Cork tiles cut down to size for track bed. I'll then ballast all the scenic area track work too.
