Have you noticed when you go to the doctors over 70 they sometimes start to write down your age as 70 and so many months. It is like some of them are counting down. Mind you in my case they probably are, as my lungs problem is terminal. Time not known though. May be that is why they do it.

There is another solution which avoids lifting the points to fix a broken or lost spring. Fit the solenoids to the Peco PL-12 base which has its own spring, then if the spring malfunctions the base one still works (or remove the point one first). If that fails simply change the base.

I am also rapidly approaching two years short of 80
Peco springs - the new code 100 are a pain, underneath so hopefully they never pack up once all ballasted!!!
