POWER TO MY SHED.
Re: POWER TO MY SHED.
Can't give anything specific, as i am looking myself, mainly ebay searches, although places like machine mart have some offerings, battery wise i can recommend Alpha batteries i bought one of their xplorer 125ah batteries about 5 years ago, still going strong, they can be found on ebay, the only advice i can really give is, inverter wise a pure sine wave is best, solar charger 60w or higher output, and one that works in daylight not just in sunlight, can't remember if it is a mono or polycrystalline, but i would research before any purchase, i would expect that all in would be around £500, so you need to weigh up the pro's and con's, against a mains installation,
Mike.

Sounds like the sort of system I have read about in Waterways World in the context of power supplies for narrowboats. The Sligo Rover wrote: ↑Sun Feb 03, 2019 9:29 pm Dynax, can you throw any more light on (pardon the pun) on "Solar charger, leisure battery, 1000w minimum inverter," or direct me to a web site that might help - thank you.
Re: POWER TO MY SHED.
had a look on ebay, seen a decent battery from Alpha £99 ish 130ah so a decent capacity, also seen a couple of inverters 1500-2000w in the mid £100's, which only leaves a decent solar panel to price up, which would also be in the low to mid £100's,
120w panel with controller, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25w-30w-50w- ... rk:33:pf:0
fixing brackets are extra
my battery was/will be again, used on my fishing dinghy for the electric outboard, was more than enough capacity for a full days cruising on the canal,

We had a similar experience some 26 years ago. We were also laying paving slabs between an outlet earmarked for the garage but unconnected by about 12-15 feet. I had some alkathene tubing which was laid down at the appropriate depth with my 3 core inside it. The 3 core cable was used as a 'pull through' by an electrician who put in a twin 13 amp and connected a small neon light up. A BTW is that he signed the paperwork to say that all was done correctly.

Re: POWER TO MY SHED.
Apparently my soon-to-be new-to-me house has puka certified wiring under a weatherproof plate on the patio rated for of all things a kiln.
I wondered why the house name was The Kiln. It seems a previous owner was a ceramics artisan. The current owner uses it to power her hot tub.
Going off piste slightly - what is the folk lore about changing a house name. Is it the same as not changing the name of a boat/ship - i.e. unlucky.

That’s all the postman/woman or delivery driver is worried about. I suppose it might cause a problem if you changed Chatsworth House to Donromin.
Nurse, the screens!

This will be our 12th house move since setting up home in 1965 so dunroaming is apt. I’m not moving again.Walkingthedog wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 11:35 am That’s all the postman/woman or delivery driver is worried about. I suppose it might cause a problem if you changed Chatsworth House to Donromin.
This house has no fence for the delivery driver to chuck a parcel over, so I may get more arriving in one piece.
