I've just added crew to this loco - Adams Class 02. I've looked at the Bromsgrove site, and it would appear that it is fairly straightforward to fit both sound and stay-alive. The loco is pre-wired for a sugar cube speaker to fit in the coal bunker, and I had to take the roof off to install the crew, so fitting the speaker would take about two minutes - the back of the cab interior just slots out, leaving plenty of room for a Sugar cube 9. The sound decoder and stay-alive power supply will all fit in from the front of the boiler. Another job on the to-do list  .

Signalman holding the token for single line running. This figure is from Hardy's Models, and came ready painted. He cost £5 - but I was prepared to pay as I wasn't sure I would get the right colours etc. There is a very similar (same?) figure on the Modelu site, and I have asked them if they will produce the same figure, but holding out the token ready for the driver/fireman in the passing loco to grab hold of - it is now on their to do list. :) Point rodding is in the post.

You should see if they can make one that has been dragged off the platform because he forgot to let go.

Did they actually do that from the signal box, track must have been very close? Certainly wouldn’t reach from yours. :D

I think they did - I'll do some research. I think on the Swanage box, the signalman could lean out from his small platform, and the driver/fireman would be able to reach the token. On Corfe Castle station platform, where the signal box is actually positioned, the signalman comes down and hands/receives the token from the driver/fireman as the loco passes.

I’ve seen them exchange tokens from a moving train while standing on a proper platform but seems a bit dodgy from a signal box. They usually hold one arm up for the driver/fireman to hook the token over and a hand up holding the other token.

They look like they are posing for a ballet when they do that - could look good on a model though.

Well there you go, thanks Barry. Track isn’t particularly close is it.
