I have this afternoon been wiring up the fiddle yard lamps. I have not been under this particular board on the layout for some considerable time - under which there is a B&Q wall unit (no doors), which houses loo rolls, kitchen rolls, and several very heavy boxes - which contain my Ferrari magazine collection (Cavallino and Forza). With all of this moved out, the wiring from each lamp - there are six, will go to their own distribution board which is now screwed to the back of the board. I still need to connect this to a power source. While under the board, and I'm sure we have all done it, as I looked at the general wiring, I wondered why I had used a twelve inch length of wire when three inches would have been more than adequate! So I have also shortened several "sagging" wires - so a fairly productive afternoon.

Yard lamps in the fiddle yard now up and running and a picture looking towards the fiddle yard over Platform 2 on Manydown Station - also a picture showing Manydown Station and the fiddle yard. Street lights and buildings illuminated next?

Love to Brian - but I can take no credit for the yard lamps. They were a commission from RML Electronics - they were made to order. I saw them on another forum sometime ago - contacted RML, told them what I'd seen, they said "we''ll make one, send it to you, and if you like it you can place an order". Really was a first class service. I ordered six initially and then another six sometime later - not cheap!!

I could do a forum topic on making the SR Concrete Platform Lamps - or more to the point how to power them - at the end of the day they are just a Ratio plastic kit. Barry

Unless I have it wrong RML ceased trading a few years ago now?
Yes please do a series of instructions on the Ratio SR lamp conversion. (Which I think was on the old forum??)

Hi Brian

RML did cease trading two or three years ago - the owner Robert Denton (?) decided to retire. However he was still taking private commissions and working from home in Yorkshire. My second order was in 2018. I'll have a think about putting something together with regards the Ratio SR lamps.
I have his email address if you need it. Barry
