You really want the lights shining up and reflecting off some tin foil.

I think the problem is that the clear LEDs I had available were designed to give a slightly focussed beam - in some areas a pool of light is exactly right but here it's not.
I think I have some prewired SMP LEDs somewhere which I used to good effect on Shaddeholme - if I can find where I put them I'll give them a try as they tend to spread the light a bit more.
Must plant some more 'weeds' as well. :D

Looking good there Steve. I think that the weeds certainly add to the scene. Nice one.

oddly enough its an issue with LED street lights, that they give a more focused pool than the HPS fittings they replace leaving odd effects in places where the posts aren't spaced closely. I have no doubt you will find a solution

Hopefully the SMDs will solve this - had to order a batch of pre-wired ones on eBay as there were none in my bits box. Waiting on a slow boat from China. :D

Planted some more weeds and added some of the detail bits bought at Alley Pally.
Hornby also replaced the J83 that was running poorly. The new one is a better runner but does suffer from poor pickups on just the front and rear axles, so the slightest wobble breaks contact. Seems a lot better having polished and cleaned the backs of the wheels though.

There’s a space next to the goods shed that needs filling - cue coal staithes from some liberated coffee stirrers.

Had to double them up as they are a bit thin on their own.

Any excuse to have another coffee.

Looking great though.
