Gutter is usually fixed to the board half way up, otherwise you would have to drill into brick to fix the brackets.

Had a good day out at the Doncaster exhibition on Sunday, it certainly increases your mojo. Managed to pick up some ‘clutter’ for the fish and goods sheds.

But before I went I couldn’t resist this beauty; DCC fitted, TMC weathered and at a snip of a price. Just need to fit a crew and re-coal the tender. Ready for the next express fish train to the Capital.

A very nice loco - and a fantastic scene. I like the way you have the variation in the depth of the water, with sand up against the wall, and then it darkens as the water gets deeper - brilliant job.

Thank you BB, I’d like to take the credit for the sand effect, but although it was painted to represent muddy water I’m not so sure I’d thought it through that much

But I have to say I’m happy with it, and it’s only several layers PVA.

Should you want a few more ripples on the surface, I would recommend ModgePodge. It's a chunky PVA liquid so no problem with it reacting with what's already there. You can stipple it on but I found it best to move it around with my airbrush although blowing through a straw also works.
A bit of white paint dry brushed onto the peaks of the ripples is a decent enhancement.

The entrance to the engine shed is starting to take shape. It’s the Red Lion on the left. Hopefully a bit more progress tonight.
