Having rearranged the track plan slightly, there is room for a four lane shed. The outer shell has been glued this evening. Quite pleased with the joints, which did need a bit of fettling to fit, although they will disappear further when some small buttress mouldings are glued in place.
I will be building a wooden frame to support the roof supports and strengthen the shell.

I agree very impressive - you will not require the Bachmann version now?

Not needed now Barry.
This one shouldn’t look too different although the paint finish will mirror the viaduct that’s already on the layout. It’s more than twice the size of a ready made shed and will be around half the price.

Made a frame to fit around the inside of the shed at roof level along with a central support then finished fitting the roof supports - doubled up the thickness to give a wider pad for the roof sheets. Also assembled the roof vents - I made five but may not fit them all.

I still need to cast a few more roof sheets before I start that part of the model. Having said that, it’s quite a challenge to get a uniform thickness for the castings so I may yet change to suitable sheets from Wills.

Hi Steve

This looks fantastic, quick question have you make a pull out table/work surface to go underneath the layout?

Yes, SM. It’s mounted on a couple of kitchen drawer runners salvaged from a traverser. Fitted into the support frame so the baseboard can still be lifted off for maintenance.........and fitting all the point motors that I now need to find. :D

Look forward to seeing that painted up as the viaduct, very, very nice bespoke shed.

Those clamps you have holding the joists together look interesting, where did you get them?

Oh, and the shed looks great by the way!
