We had a guy decorate our house last year, a British Airways pilot on furlough. He made a fantastic job of the landing.

The sounds are indeed very good although the chuffs cut out after around half a dozen puffs. Unfortunately these expensive decoders are not exactly plug and play and I have no idea which CVs may need changing not what values to apply.
Sounds great but not user friendly.

I bought a thing.

More like a piece of jewellery.

Getting ready for the next project - repaint of a class 52 to replicate a limited edition black Western.
These are the 3D printed transfers from RailTec - excellent as always. This is a custom set that they printed specifically for this project at no extra cost and delivered in less than a week. They changed the name and numbers as well as the background colours of the data panels and the plates themselves.

The loco also arrived from the owner today but the shed will need to warm up a bit before I make a start - brass monkeys are roaming the streets looking for a welder. :D

That should look good. Guess you’ll be able to use your imagination with the black colour scheme.

Anyone wishing to know the outcome, after an email to both retailer and SWD, the decoder was requested to be sent back upon which a full refund was given. Credit to the speedy attention and resolve from both Digitrains and SWD on this occasion. Also big thanks Steve for your part.

Work has started on D1003. I believe this is known as a ‘deconstructed’ Western.

The weather is too cold and damp for any finish paint but it may get a dusting with grey primer at some point today.

A coat of satin black now slowly curing in the shed. Had to give it a quick blast with a heater to get the paint to ‘flash’ and it will now be left for a couple of days to harden properly. In summer, I would only leave it a couple of hours!

Nice work Steve - what was mean in green, looks devilish in black !
